Zeem Solutions, an EV charging infrastructure and fleet management provider, recently said its Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) Depot has surpassed 350,000 cumulative charging sessions since opening in December 2021.
The company said the milestone reflects the scale of its operations and the continued growth of commercial EV charging for rental car, ride-hail, and medium- and heavy-duty fleets.
LAX Depot Expands Charging Operations
The LAX Depot delivered about 28,000 charging sessions during its first two years of operation and has since grown into one of the nation’s highest-throughput commercial EV charging facilities. The depot has dispensed an estimated 13.4 million kWh of electricity to fleets operating around the airport.
During the first four months of 2026, Zeem reported more than 75,000 charging sessions and 3.2 million kWh dispensed.
“You learn a tremendous amount from 350,000 commercial charging sessions, and those lessons have shaped Zeem 2.0 as we bring our proven model directly to customer fleet sites,” said Paul Gioupis, founder and CEO of Zeem Solutions, in a May 4 news release.
Operational Data Highlights Fleet Charging Trends
Zeem said the LAX Depot has generated operational data that highlights several commercial charging trends.
The company said all charging sessions at the depot are contracted and scheduled in advance, helping maintain 98% charger uptime while supporting light-, medium-, and heavy-duty vehicles on a single site.
Zeem also works directly with fleet operators to map vehicle duty cycles, including return times, dwell periods, and charging requirements. The company said this approach allows multiple fleet types — including drayage trucks, ride-hail vehicles, and rental shuttles — to share charging infrastructure efficiently.
Depot operations include 24/7 valet services to rotate and check in vehicles, along with charging, parking, security, maintenance, and cleaning services for Class 1 through Class 8 EV fleets.
Charging Activity Supports Emissions Reductions
The 350,000-session milestone represents an estimated reduction of 5.6 million kg of CO2 emissions, according to Zeem. The company said that equals avoiding the use of 634,831 gallons of gasoline or powering 1,113 U.S. homes for one year.
Zeem said it is opening additional charging depots in the SeaTac and Long Beach markets while developing other facilities nationwide. The company is also expanding its MyGrid turnkey charging infrastructure solution for fleet customer sites.
“What the 350,000-session milestone really measures is reliability at scale,” said Rick Eckert, vice president of operations at Zeem Solutions. “Every one of those sessions represents a fleet vehicle that needed to get back on the road on time.”
